INDIGO SCHOLARSHIPS

The Indigo Scholarship Program is designed to empower the next generation of leaders by removing financial barriers to education while providing mentorship, leadership training, and real-world opportunities for impact. Unlike traditional scholarships that only provide money, Indigo integrates recipients into a supportive network where students gain practical skills, career exposure, and opportunities to serve their communities.

Through this program, Indigo Group connects students with scholarship sponsors, mentors, and community partners, creating a legacy of leadership that extends beyond the classroom.

Creating your own scholarship with Indigo is a meaningful way to leave a legacy and make a lasting impact on future generations. It allows you to reflect your values, support students in areas that matter most to you, and gain recognition at Indigo events and across our platforms.

You will also have the chance to connect with students directly, offering guidance as they grow into leaders. You can begin with a single scholarship and expand over time, ensuring your support continues to inspire for years to come.

Requirements

  • Define eligibility criteria (age range, GPA, background, or field of study). Set the award amount (minimum recommended: $1,000).
  • Decide whether it will be a one-time award or renewable.
  • Identify any special focus areas (e.g., first-generation students, STEM, arts, civic leadership).
  • Commit to supporting students with not only funding but also mentorship or networking opportunities.
  • Partner with Indigo Group for promotion, administration, and recognition.

Meet Our Elegibility Criteria

  • Be between 12 and 24 years old to the moment of submitting the application.
  • Be currently enrolled in high school (junior or senior year) or an undergraduate program.
  • Demonstrate a consistent record of leadership in extracurricular activities, community service, or other initiatives.
  • Hold a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit a completed application and all required documents by the deadline.
  • Priority is given to students who are: First-generation immigrant students, refugees, from low-income backgrounds and those who have overcome significant personal adversity.

Before you begin, have these ready:

  • Academic transcript.
  • A valid Driver's License or State ID.
  • Resume or Activity Sheet.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (one must be from a teacher, counselor, or mentor).
  • Three short essays (see questions below).

The Pendergraft Scholarship is a cornerstone of the Indigo Scholarship Program, created under the leadership of Ross Pendergraft, Chairman of the Board. It is dedicated to empowering young people between the ages of 12 and 24 who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

Ross Pendergraft, a respected leader in corporate strategy, healthcare policy, and mentorship, believes deeply in the power of education and leadership development. Guided by this vision, the scholarship provides students with financial support, mentorship, leadership training, and meaningful opportunities to engage with Indigo Group, ensuring they are prepared to grow as leaders and changemakers.

Goals and Objectives

The Pendergraft Scholarship aims to remove financial barriers, provide leadership training and cause a positive social impact by empowering students who demonstrate potential but face economic, social, or political barriers with mentorships and financial aid so they can access quality education and create projects for their communities. This is achieved through full or partial scholarships.

Key Features

The students granted with the Pendergraph scholarship get access to the Indigo School of Leaders where they will have:

Leadership workshops: Students will gain skills in decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, effective communication and teamwork.

Networking opportunities: Scholars will have meetings with entrepreneurs, business leaders and professionals to start building meaningful connections that will support their careers.

Foster Social Impact: Encourage students to design and lead projects that address real community needs.

Community involvement: Scholars will be invited to participate in Indigo’s social projects allowing them to start practicing their leadership skills in the real world.

Career opportunities: Scholars will receive career development opportunities such as internships, job shadowing, and industry exposure, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional challenges after graduation.

Each scholar will receive $1.000 for their education expenses.
