“Empowering communities, celebrating diversity, and building opportunities for a brighter future together.”
— Indigo Group
Indigo Group is a nonprofit organization registered in February 2024 in Los Angeles County, California.
Our mission is clear: to empower international youth and first-generation Americans through education and leadership. We help them grow as individuals and contribute to a stronger, better California for future generations.
We are a space where art, entertainment, business, and education come together for one goal: to empower international communities and first-generation Americans — including Mexicans, Persians, Ukrainians, and other future Americans.
We know that many public policies and traditional organizations are not ready to work with these communities. That's why Indigo Group offers real tools, support, and hope for those building a new future here.
Indigo Group began as a movement across Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, and the Caribbean to support people forced to leave their countries due to conflict and crisis.
Our founder Manuel created an organization that delivered over 100,000 meals and thousands of medicines to communities across Latin America.
Officially registered in Los Angeles County, bringing our mission to empower international youth and first-generation Americans in California.
Indigo Group was founded by Manuel Alejandro Polanco, a young lawyer who believes that re-thinking the future means creating real opportunities for the next generations of children and youth in the United States and across the Americas.
Today, Indigo Group is stronger than ever, committed to providing real tools, support, and hope for communities building their futures in America.
The future grows here.
Let's rethink the future, together.
Our diverse team brings together educators, social workers, business leaders, and community organizers united by a shared commitment to educational equity and youth empowerment.
With expertise spanning program development, nonprofit management, and youth advocacy, our staff works collaboratively to design and implement impactful programs.
We believe in centering the voices and experiences of the communities we serve. At Indigo, we are guided by core values of equity, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation.
We primarily serve first-generation Americans, immigrant families, and underrepresented youth in Los Angeles County and beyond.
Our programs are designed to address the unique challenges faced by these communities, including language barriers, cultural transitions, and systemic inequities in education and employment.
Supporting students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education
Providing resources for recent immigrants and their children
Bringing opportunities to neighborhoods with limited access to resources

Access to opportunity shouldn't be determined by your ZIP code, skin color, or income level—but for too many, it still is.
Indigo addresses the gap in access, representation, and long-term support that keeps youth and underrepresented communities from thriving. We're here to change that.
We envision a world where leadership is reflective of the communities it serves. A world where equity isn't a goal—it's a given.
Through leadership development, systemic partnerships, and a focus on sustainability, Indigo is building a future where everyone has a seat at the table—and the tools to lead from it.
